Skirts the sheer northern face of the Marmolada (3,343m), the highest mountain in the Dolomites, running directly beside its hanging glacier and crossing the 600-meter dam wall of Lago di Fedaia at 2,057m. The eastern ramp climbing out of Malga Ciapela contains brutal straight-line ramps with 15-18% sustained grades that severely test engine cooling and brake performance. Toll-free. Open late May through October.
