Strictly avoid night riding due to open-range black cattle (vacas negras) sleeping on warm asphalt and unlit farm trucks. Fuel Range: The critical fuel gap is between El Rosario and Cataviña / Villa Jesús María (approx. 200 miles); top off in El Rosario and carry auxiliary fuel or purchase emergency barrel gas (gasolina de tambo) from roadside vendors in Cataviña.
