Rising deep within Monongahela National Forest, the Highland Scenic Highway is West Virginia's premier high-altitude scenic corridor. The Parkway portion (WV-150) runs for 22 miles without commercial development along the crest of the Black Mountains, topping out at 4,550 feet near Cranberry Glades Botanical Area. Sweeping radii, dramatic four-overlook panoramas, and crisp mountain air define the ride. Connects to WV-39 along the Williams River gorge. Note: WV-150 is not snow-plowed in winter.
